Thirteenth ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures
July 4-6, 2001 Crete Island, Greece
|
The Thirteenth Annual ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and
Architectures (SPAA '01) is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest
Groups on Algorithms and Computation Theory (SIGACT) and Computer
Architecture (SIGARCH) and
organized in cooperation with the European Association
for Theoretical Computer Science and
Computer Technology Institute (CTI)
This year SPAA is co-located with
The 33rd Annual ACM Symposium on
Theory of Computing (STOC) (July 6-8, 2001) and
The 28th International Colloquium
on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP) (July 8-12, 2001).
SPAA '01 will feature contributed papers, each with a 25-minute talk,
and SPAA revue papers, each with a 10-minute talk. The SPAA revue is
for brief communications including work in progress or demos.
Expanded Scope
This year, SPAA defines "parallel" very broadly to encompass any
computational "device" that can perform multiple operations or
tasks simultaneously. As a consequence, SPAA 2001 covers all
traditional parallel and distributed architectures, plus new aspects
including satellite networks, the web, quantum and DNA
computing, etc. For more information, see the call for papers below.
Local information
The conference will
be held at the Knossos Royal Village - Aldemar. It is located about
25 km east of Heraklion. Room rates are $155 double, $112-$132
